The novel speculates about the atrocities preceding the emergence of a New South Africa and the regression and deterioration after the yoke of oppression had been thrown off. Mostly it tells about people of all race groups and how they might have reacted to the changes that were affecting the country they love and how they could have reacted if they were only people who cared enough about people to want to help them to help themselves. Perhaps, if enough of us keep on dreaming --
