In 2004, Alabama Marine Police Lieutenant Mark Richards battled a monster alligator snapping turtle with a taste for human flesh. He hoped he'd destroyed it. He didn't, and now, it's back. But there is another monster among them, a person so evil, so perverted, that he wants his victims to suffer unspeakable horror. Unbeknownst to the lieutenant and his family, they practically rub shoulders with the monster, and they are none the wiser. Nor does anyone know that this killer has an unwitting accomplice, a voracious reptile most willing to help destroy the evidence of this depraved man's perverted, sexual lust. Together the two killers, one a mindless creature, the other a highly intelligent human, manage to continue their bloody partnership without interruption until Lieutenant Richards, with the help of Detective Sergeant Tom Salter, brings the case to a final, unexpected close.
