Havenport was a small fishing village in far northern Nova Scotia. The city bought the makings for a lighthouse and made the eldest fisherman and his wife and son the keepers much to the thanks of the couple. Fishing was getting too hard on the aging man. Keeping watch on the sea was not without its precedence in that area. The local Micmak Indian tribe had watchers to stand on the high cliff among the trees to watch for their returning whalers. The spirit of one such watcher was ever present at the new lighthouse. When the man's son took a pregnant girl in need of a husband, her premature baby Lucy only lived ten years and joined the other spirits hanging around the lighthouse. In the spirit world Lucy's own soul followed her around like a shadow as her soul had not fully come to her when she was born. Lucy's lust for a complete life and love drove her to the modern days and the haunting of a young boy her own age. Pulled into the spirit world in a drug induces sleep, the local Micmak spirits joined the two in a soul joining ceremony. Samuel Long became Lucy's spirit husband and haunted him constantly. Quite visible to the man he had no idea that Lucy had other tricks up her sleeve to be with the man physically. She had found a baby girl growing in the womb of her mother and sent her remaining soul into her. When the girl was born then Lucy would join the rest of her spirit to begin another life; but Lucy lost the whereabouts of her other half and it was not until Lucile was in her thirties that she and Lucy found one another. Falling in love with Sam was no problem for Lucile, marrying the man was not in question, she was already half way married to him. The real problem did not start until her sister on tour of the old lighthouse haunted by ghosts of its former keepers tried some of the spirit drugs in order to see the spirits that Sam was used to seeing. When sleep came the spirits of the Micmak took Sam and Lucile's sister into their realm, marked them with their fertility tattoos and joined them in a soul joining ceremony. Now Sam had two wives not of his own conscious doing. The plot thickens when this sister turns up pregnant
