When Ben Wyatt and his gang hold up the bank in Adobe, Arizona, Wyatt is captured as they flee the scene. Sheriff Willard Beal and a deputy had been gunned down in the raid and the only man left to guard the brutal bank robber is the remaining deputy, young Rick Lander.
