Haberdashery Hero — Jean Kincaid

Caitlin Jacobs refuses to allow the Red Hat Sewing Club to start a sewing room in her newly remodeled conference room. She doesn't care that it used to be a famous Haberdashery. And they wanted it free of charge to boot. Finally in desperation at their demands, she cops a New Yorker attitude, looks down her nose and tells the leader of the group to leave. She meets Jake Daniels by accident and studies him warily. He's so nice to her son she begins to think he might be the man for her; but then he's nice to the Red Hatter, too. Jake's family has a habit of falling in love at first sight. One morning while out jogging he notices Caitlin on the balcony of the old hunting lodge. She takes his breath away. A few days later, opportunity to meet her presents itself with a box left at the curb of her drive. He carries it in for her and determines to remain a part of her life before he even learns her name, but will she dismiss him the same way she did the Red Hat club?
