Green Pelicans
Sebastian Linus Youngfield is sailing the world with his parents, Cameron and Anne, when their voyage takes a dramatic turn in the South Pacific. A massive storm blows in leaving Sebastian adrift at sea in a small dinghy. To survive the adventures ahead, he must cast fear into the depths and summon every skill learned in his young life.

Following several days adrift at sea, Sebastian makes it safely ashore a small island. But he's not alone. He soon discovers that the island is occupied by a flock of strange florescent green pelicans. And as he ventures to the opposite side of his little speck of land, he discovers a second, much larger island. But it lies far across a deep blue lagoon. Sebastian's dinghy was ripped apart as he crossed the sharp coral of a protective reef. Though an excellent swimmer, it may be difficult, if not impossible to reach the other shore without a boat.

Later his first day, while exploring his new home Sebastian finds the bones of a previous castaway; and a map. But there are signs the dead man may have gone insane and before his first night on the island passes, Sebastian may know why. Things here aren't what they seem. The strange green pelicans aren't really birds. And the flying creatures that occupy the large island across the lagoon are not friendly.
