In Gentleman Companion Two, Lawrence returns as the Gentleman Companion facing his diagnosis of HIV. Only the Event Director and the Captain are aware of his diagnosis initially. However, after Lawrence has an unfortunate accident the ship's doctor, Henry and his butler, Rolf became aware of his diagnosis. The furniture in the penthouse where Lawrence stayed is removed and destroyed prior to his arrival. The new renovation results in the Captain offering him his personal quarters for the first days of the cruise. Lawrence meets seven new dates. His eighth date, Ann, from Gentleman Companion One returns promising new directions in her life after successful rehabilitation. Lawrence wears costumes to mask his identity for two of his dates while participating in large-scale events involving the crew off the ship and on board. Lawrence learns the Gentleman Companion program will be expanding to other ships within the cruise line and worries about his position with the new diagnosis. He becomes an observer as Angeline falls in love, crewmembers seek marriage, new babies are born, and life ends.
