Allen Raine was the pseudonym of Anne Adalisa (nee Evans) Puddicombe (1836-1908). She was a prolific Welsh novelist whose works achieved popularity in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Amongst her works are A Welsh Singer (1896), Torn Sails (1898), By Berwen Banks (1899) and Garthowen: A Story of a Welsh Homestead (1900).
