Gabriels Ladder — Samuel Johnson

Set against a backdrop of racism, this book tells the story of black people living in London in the 1980s and 1990s. Gabriel returns to London to investigate the death of his mother two decades earlier. His experiences in black politics and activism are juxtaposed with her story told in flashbacks.
