The experience of a young girl who finds out that education is not always the best teacher. Melanie Love was born and raised in an affluent Chicago suburb. She is ready to take on the world as she heads to college leaving behind her cookie cutter life. At a high school farewell party in her honor, an innocent exchange with her long time boyfriend sends her on a journey to addiction of which there is no return. Melanie operates through life in college and beyond oblivious to the harm of her encounter until finally realizing that what she has become is not what she wants to be. Facing her choices head on, she moves towards freeing herself of her dependence. Can she be free or has the abuse on her body taken its toll?
