Escaping Rochester's harsh winter, Billy and Beth Brook fly to Miami to celebrate their anniversary. No sooner do they touch the ground than their rental car is rear-ended, but this is no simple fender bender. Things get ugly fast. Guns are drawn and the Brooks narrowly escape their assailants. Despite everyone's insistence that the couple have stumbled into Miami's drug trade, Billy and Beth suspect that something more is going on. After they learn that an Englishman whom they met on the flight down was killed in an identical rental car and other bodies begin to fall, it becomes clear that they have become embroiled in a conspiracy much deeper than they thought-a conspiracy that soon extends to the covert corridors of power in Washington and sends this average couple running for their lives.
