Ron is having bank problems. It seems his deposit slips don't match his checks that were deposited. Money is missing, lots of money. Who has it and where did it go? Ron goes to the bank to try and find out. The bank has promised they would investigate. The very next day the bank person who takes care of his deposits is found dead. Now what? Where is all that money. Come to find out, Ron's account isn't the only one missing funds
Ron calls in Mike and Peter to help him out before he is considered a suspect.
Mike and Peter run into Hattie, the dead woman's pet chicken and her cronies. Hattie has a mind and will of her own. Now that her owner is dead, where will she go?
Hattie and her cronies are guard chickens who protect the farm. Hattie gets involved in everything, including scaring away a would-be intruder and killer.
Someone tried to break into the dead woman's farm to search it. Why? To keep the farm safe, will Mike and Peter have to move into the farm house and take care of the farm till they can figure it out?
The mystery gets deeper and more twisted as Mike and Peter run into more problems and another dead body.
