Tamsyn is getting over a divorce when her distant cousin, Richard, arrives at the horse sanctuary in Devon where she lives. He has come from London begging a room for a few weeks. His reason, he says, is his own divorce which has turned nasty and he needs somewhere to stay until it's sorted out.
The truth is he is an investment banker out on bail, accused of insider trading, his accounts have been frozen and he is hoping to con some money out of Tamsyn, whom he hasn't seen for ten years.
His grandfather and her grandmother were brother and sister and their other sibling, Matilda, was once a famous movie star. Tamsyn lived with her up until her recent death and Richard assumes his great aunt has left everything to her.
He is desperate and has come deliberately to either con her out of some money or contest the Will and claim some of the estate for himself.
But it doesn't take long for these two to realise they cannot resist each other and having spent two nights together in Richard's bed, he begins to realise she has come to mean more to him than he ever intended.
But how is he to win her, when he has already told so many lies?
