Dana Gentry's world ended on a bright spring morning when her family was killed in an automobile accident. For the first time in her life, she was alone and she was dangerously close to the breaking point. The only person Dana could turn to was her mother's estranged sister. Dana found herself welcome in Gladys Wilson's home, and for a time it seemed that the old lady's regrets over the past would force her to help Dana heal the old wounds. Suddenly, a nightmare more horrible than the tragedy of Dana's loss swept her up, and she found herself living another woman's life...and dying another woman's death!
THE EVIL HOUSE
Dana came awake to a splitting headache, and to the sound of voices. Just at that moment came a sharp rap on the door. "C'mon, Dane; people are waiting. Let's get rolling."
She sat up gingerly, then went to the window, yawning and rubbing the sleep from her eyes as she stared out at the house next door. She wonder if Glenn would make it all right this morning...
Glenn? Who was Glenn...?
Dana shook her head, trying to clear away the cobwebs. She couldn't remember a boy with that name...
Her eyes widened in sudden fright. She clutched at the window sill, as though afraid her would fall, as she stared at the neighboring house -- the seedy rooming house.
But the house next door wore a fresh coat of paint, and the windows sparkled. She whirled, panic-stricken, to stare at the room. Was it the same room that she had gone to bed in last night...? Where was she? When was she?
