Eternity's Embrace — Ken Lord

This is a two-frame story. The inner frame deals with the formation of a family during the era of World War I. It is a love story, set largely in the State of Maine, though the characters harken from elsewhere. The outer frame is a story of their progeny, a pair of siblings searching for their mother's gravesite on an island just off the coast at Machias. There's much history here, a little lunacy, a lot of love, and a reminder that we live not only for ourselves, but also for the ages.
