Earth in the Mouth — Carsten Jensen

This is a story about the beauty and the loss of senses, as experienced by the protagonist, Thomas, a young Dane travelling in India. Thomas feels the discomfort which often surprises travellers in the Third World, the sensation of being mentally and physically weakened by culture shock.
