Dodge City
Kyle Brubaker has made a discovery. A set of hieroglyphic images painted on a wall deep inside a cave. He soon dubs them as 'hairy glifics'. What he learns from the images changes his life forever. Utilized a certain way allows him to travel through time.

As luck, or bad luck would have it, no period of history, nor events that might transpire in their future, are beyond their ability to visit.

Kyle makes additional and surprising discoveries with the images. He finds he can make his trips and arrivals to a specific location very precise; to a date, month, year and time of day. The biggest obstacles are the actual arrivals. He has yet to learn and master a way to land in a dignified manner. They are, as he is known to say, not pretty.

Kyle is impulsive and willing to embark on trips that could be life-threatening. As a result Hilly is distressed and rightly so. Kyle launches himself into Dodge City, Kansas in 1875 and is amazed at how different and dangerous the old American West really was. Almost immediately after his arrival he is befriended by 15-year old Clint Wainright. The boy is completely alone and in need of a companion and partner.

Life in that period was marginally safer and easier for two people than just one alone. Both boys spend a day avoiding peril and when the time comes for Kyle to leave Dodge and head home, he chooses the only method he can come up with on the spur of the moment. He knows that disappearing and deserting his new friend will have consequences that will be hard to live with. But he has no choice.

This first in a series of Kyle Brubaker adventures will introduce you to a continuing and ever-changing cast of characters.

Each story is strong on protagonists, each with vividly rich and sometimes complex personalities that will engage the reader. They will generate memorable experiences and pull the reader into the events and periods the characters live in.

Be prepared for the unexpected.
