Doctor in Pursuit — Lynne Collins

The budding relationship between young nurse Kate Murry and senior houseman Todd Morgan seems doomed to be blighted by misunderstanding.
Todd is shattered when he picks up a note that Kate has dropped and read the words: Dearest. Kate…take pity on a lonely man. For she is obviously not the delightful innocent he believes her to be. And Kate is convinced that Todd is a philanderer with a string of broken hearts behind him. Why then is she so disturbed when he apparently abandons his pursuit of her?
