THE MORGANS AND THEIR THREE DAUGHTERS LEAD THE GOOD LIFE

Louise Morgan lives in a large house in a rich suburb. She's well-born, well-bred, and loves the outdoors. Kent Morgan is a yacht designer, a snob who is somewhat embarrassed by his wife's outdoorsy inclinations. She may drink a little too much, and he may be a little bit trying in his social climbing, but they're living the American Dream.

Then their world is shattered when Kent begins an affair with a sensuous young woman -- and her unorthodox mother. Nothing will bring the Morgans together again, and neither will be satisfied with less than total destruction of the other. Kent achieves that as Louise descends into lesbianism, drug addiction, alcoholism, and finally, mental collapse.

The divorce action leads to a vicious, ugly battle that climaxes in an excruciatingly tense courtroom where no one wins and the losses are larger than anyone could have imagined.

THE DIVORCE
-- a spellbinding melodrama that exposes the sordid, shocking ruthlessness when domestic tranquility ceases to exist.
