Marcia Winston was trying to forget the pain of her first love. But was new love the same as true love.

Marcia Winston was born in Chicago, grew to adulthood there...and knew her first love there. And when that first love went sour, Marcia knew that she had to leave the city. She had to go away, far from the memories of Randy Ralston...the memories, and the troubles that Randy had caused.

But she was determined to forget those troubles as she forgot Randy himself, and now her new car was heading her towards a new life, a new job, in Texas. And then it seemed that fate was taking a hand as her car was forced off the road, and she met a dark stranger...

Second Meeting

Houston was a delight. Marcia was glad that Louise McCall had invited her; the other girl seemed sincere in wanting Marcia to meet her family. And Terry McCall was interesting, she had to admit.

But the memory of the stranger kept coming back, the memory of that one chance meeting. Now, as they sat in the Astrodome, Marcia felt as though eyes were watching her. She turned around cautiously, and nearly jumped as, two rows away, she saw the man who had rescued her from the drainage ditch!

She turned, blushing, and a voice called: "Terry! Terry McCall!" Her host looked around and smiled a greeting.

"Gary Clayton!" he said in surprise. Marcia turned again, and nearly collapsed.

It was the stranger!
