Destiny Challenge is the second book in the Creative Women series. The character of Jessica Alvey was introduced in the first book of the series, Captured Memories. Jessica Alvey is a single mother who earns her living as an author of children's books. She has come to terms over the years with her less that perfect childhood and the fact that her husband passed away and left her to raise their young daughter alone. However, she still longs for a second chance at love and the opportunity to provide a sibling for her young daughter. During preparations for her sister Ashlyn's wedding, Jessica meets the most handsome man she has ever laid eyes on. Kent Layne, the best man and her future brother-in-law's best friend. Knowing Kent's reputation as a ladies man, he is warned to stay away from Jessica by his friend. Despite the warnings from her family and friends, Jessica finds herself drawn to Kent and she begins to doubt that Kent is the same man that her brother-in-law knew in college. Kent feels confident that Jessica is way out of his league, but he finds it difficult to keep his distance. In the beginning it seems improbable if not impossible that Kent and Jessica would become business partners. But with the success of their combined business venture, a fitness center, Destiny Challenge; they will have to conclude that they make very good business partners and may actually be better suited as romantic partners than anyone could have guessed.
