RC Frane, homicide detective in the Philadelphia Police Department, has retired. Can this be possible? During drinks at the Ritz Carlton, he gets a call from John Pentram to investigate a murder behind Juliani's Restaurant. Strange? The Three Jimmies and the Two Suits try to settle who did what to the first murder victim. Enter Maria Abate, who claims to be CIA. She threatens Frane and has her number-one man, “Marmaduke,” accost him on the jogging path. Later, “Fish” enters the picture. It is not clear whom he represents. When Rogers is kidnapped, Frane swings into action. Captain Bailey engineers her rescue. Later, she arrests Abate. Wow! It seems Frane might have been better off staying with the police. Travels through the underground tunnel to Pentram's house save him from surveillance. Does it all end well? Frane is an upstanding, straight-forward cop. Read on.
