Lost love and the feelings of remorseful memories haunt human existence. One lone man, his heart as heavy as the scene surrounding him, finds himself alone in a cemetery with only the harsh memories of his pervious life standing before him like the cold stones which rise from the earth. His love is gone, yet still it lingers like a haunting phantom, tugging at his mind with intensity. The location is always the same on every visit; this time, however, something new is revealed as he approaches. What can possibly change in a yard of the dead? Is something different, or has it always been that way? Originally written for the Writer’s Digest Short Short Story contest, this tale is a macabre episode dealing with the heavy burden of lovers lost forever. Spell-binding and mysterious, the story has powerful emotions with a neo-gothic twist.
