The story is about Maggie, a lonely housewife whose only friend in the world is her diary, where she keeps her thoughts, secrets, and dreams. Everyone in her life ends up using her for what she can give, but they never return her love, generosity, or friendship. Maggie turns to the internet to ease her loneliness, and discovers a whold new world. She finds an internet lover who finally comes to town on business. They meet and fall in love. But their family obligations keep them apart, so their only connection is their computers. Than tragedy strikes, and she loses her daughter in a tragic accident. Maggie turns to her diary and Bill, her internet lover, for the support and love her family can't o, or won't, give to her. She's bound to a neglectful husband, and with the distance between them, and the hurdles they face, sometimes Maggie wonders if it is all worth it.
