Dead of a Counterplot
When a student is found dead at Mudge Hall, lecturer and literary critic Adam Ludlow begins an investigation that takes him on a journey around the seedy pubs, clubs and boarding houses of London in the early 1960s. On the way he encounters small-time crooks, a communist cell, and a police inspector keen to impress with his knowledge of English literature. But before he can confront the murderer, Ludlow must uncover the secret of an incriminating bracelet.

This book was first published by Bles in 1962 and is the inaugural book in a series of five Adam Ludlow novels written by Simon Nash.
