Daughters of the Evening Star — A.L. Jambor

A ghostly figure walks along the shore near Truelock Manor. Locals call her the Widow. Felicity is present at the deathbed of Esther, who tells Felicity an unbelievable tale, and begs her to record it so that those in the future will know the story of Stephen and Mercy Truelock. Felicity faithfully records Esther's words in a diary, which finds its way into Mary Ellen Comstock's hands some one hundred years later. The revelations in the diary ignite Mary Ellen's imagination and a deep desire to solve the mystery of Mercy and Stephen Truelock's disappearance turns into a quest. Along with her friends, Peggy and Lizzie, Mary Ellen devises a plan she hopes will free Esther from her earthly bonds and together the girls become The Daughters of the Evening Star.
