THE STARS HOLD THE FUTURE

Public relations expert Jan Morel comes to Seacrest to help repair the damage done to Stephen Kent's senatorial campaign. Though acquitted of negligence in the accident which drowned a beautiful campaign worker, the people still believe Stephen guilty. Then his wife commits suicide.

Stephen himself seems oddly unwilling to help. Is her trying to shield his alcoholic twin brother, Greg, in love with the drowned girl whose ghost now haunts Seavrest? Or his mother, who predicted by the stars that both girls would die? Or Myra, Greg's wife, jealous of her husband's love for the dead woman? Or is Stephen himself really guilty?

Despite warnings from Mrs. Kent that her stars predict terrible danger, Jan struggles to uncover the truth - not only for the sake of the campaign but because she has fallen in love with Stephen. Yet the closer she comes to solving the mystery, the closer she comes to proving the stars' fatal prophecy.
