When David Stone wins the Presidency, his enemies, Toad Bainbridge and Swift Stilton among them,lay in wait for his first misstep. Stone wants radical change for this country and only two previous Presidents have ever attempted what he has in mind. Both of them were assassinated.
Does David Stone dare to attempt what has never been done in this country before? A talk show radio demigod, Swift Stilton, launches daily attacks of vitriolic hatred against Stone and his beautiful wife. Will this encourage some deranged listener to rid the world of David Stone? Stilton certainly makes it sound as if David Stone is more of a danger to the United States than any foreign terrorist has ever been or will ever be. Stilton also gives the clear impression that the man who assassinates President Stone will be declared a national hero. Will this lead to the President's demise? Or is there some element of truth to Stilton's ravings?
Will David Stone live to carry out his plans for the country? Or will his only legacy be a misguided attempt at radical change that was doomed to failure from the start?
