One Bootie dog chasing a cat can't spell disaster, can it? Well for Naomi it did, sorta. At least it started out that way. Not only did she manage to fall and break her ankle, she also fell into another man's arms.
Naomi gave up on men, especially men that could get all furry. She not only physically fell for the most wanted man in town but she's finding herself emotionally falling for him as well.
Bret enters the picture to find a woman on the ground holding her ankle crying in pain after his sister's dog tripped her and possibly broke her ankle. Being the Sheriff in their small town, he steps in to save her but can't believe he's possibly found his mate. A woman that has no idea of her best friend's heritage or what it means to be a life mate. Naomi not only made his wolf sit back and howl in frustration because he can't just up and mate with her. Not only that, but his teenage daughter has decided puberty is always a fun and furry event.
What can a wolf do? Howl in frustration and try to figure out how to make this human his for life? The challenge has been made. Now all Bret has to do is figure out how to make Naomi his and shut up his whining wolf.
