Curs?d Bloom — Paul Richard Sully

Paul meets Virginie and Morenita by chance encounter in a Geneva street, pursued by an apparently drugged man. The girls claim that the man is acting odd and that they are scared. Not noted for his bravery, Paul threatens to call the police. Despite his warnings and a distant siren, the Greek man shows his passport and only leaves when the police arrive. With the stranger gone, the gallant escorts his refugees to safety. In doing so he innocently sets off a romance, a liaison over which he quickly finds out that he has limited control. Virginie proves no ordinary passer-by. She carries a burden that has its source in a surreal world, one where Catholic and Protestant battled and magic mixed. The seemingly chance encounter pushes Paul along a path of change from which he will not return.
