Cunning Foe: Faulkil

Thirteen-year-old Joey Field has a deep hatred of rats. Ever since he can remember these rodent pests have been stealing food and damaging everything in their path. He and his friend Charlie attempt to kill them all in a family-owned chicken barn. They are succeeding until the rats decide to fight back under the leadership of Faulkil. Faulkil and his mate Snowlight join forces with the rest of the rat pack to stop the boys. The ensuing battle turns into a full-scale war when the governor appoints a team to eliminate the stubborn rodents. Enter Paula, a girl Joey has a crush on, and Sarah, who once owned Snowlight. Will Sarah's love of Snowlight and Paula's influence change the boys' attitude towards the rats? Can bitter enemies actually become allies?
