Maggie Hennessy had everything: she was New York's top model, a jet-setter who adorned as many magazine covers as she did arms of famous men. The guests included Dr. Jacques Roland, darkly handsome but also strangely, cruelly lascivious; Evelyn Fabian, a beautiful film star on a mysterious vacation; and Robert Samuels, a kind, leisurely man who was, of all things, a detective.

Beneath the resort's surface tranquility, its semblance of peace and quiet, was the rumble of something evil. Cove's End had rented its rooms to mystery, maybe even to murder…
