In a near-future world where vampirism is a recognized medical condition, Walt Sanger is an undead clerk in a downtown convenience store who buys his blood from the local Red Cross. Soon after putting a hold-up man in the hospital, he finds himself searching for new employment. Difficulties with jobs, women, and other vampires multiply. Then, just when it looks like he's finally hit easy street, his problems really begin.
