On April 1st, 2006, teams of cartoonists gathered in comic book stores across the U.S. and Canada and were simultaneously given a specific challenge: 12 hours to come up with their best eight-page story. Respected industry judges (former CrossGen head writer Barbara Kesel, veteran artist Joe Staton, and G.T.Labs publisher/writer Jim Ottaviani) then decided which stories best met the challenge, granting them the Gold, Silver and Bronze Comics Jam War awards (the “Comics Jammies”.)
