In Code Name Pour Angelique, we deal with the consequences of starting a fire you cannot control and may come back at you. When Special Forces or secret agents attack someone or something they better succeed, or the retaliation will follow you home. We see this happening every day in the current War on Terror. Traditionally, before 9/11, the terrorist activities were far away and something on the news, not in your neighbourhood if American or if from Western Europe. There were terrorist incidents, of course, especially in France where not all were Muslim related as such - Mossad taking out Arabs - such acts are terrorism and innocents were murdered. Before that, the French suffered under the Algerian problem and anti-de Gaul actions. In the UK we had a great terror threat with the IRA exploding bombs since the 1970s and in the US, the terror mostly came from the white supremacists such as the Oklahoma Bombing etc. Yet, looking back, that was almost innocent in what is happening now. In the 1990s, the West has grown complacent. It undoubtedly never occurred to anyone in power that the constant meddling in the Middle East may have unforeseen consequences for future generations. This is what this book is about - when you push too far, the pushback may be more than what you bargained for and once that type of fight starts, there will be only one man standing at the end. In Code Name Pour Angelique I want to show you what happens when you take on the wrong people or you kill the wrong man. In counterterrorism that is the very worst mistake ever, to kill indiscriminately and to murder innocents, there is always a retaliation in kind and yet that is what is happening today, 2 innocents die for every terrorist killed by NATO Forces. I often warn of the consequences in my books. The Barack Obama drone attacks had a 96.5% failure rate, they missed the intended target 96.5% of the time. As a counterterrorism effort, pathetic beyond any words and the civilian population will suffer the logical consequences, terrorism at home. There is no excuse. Description: After South African spymaster extraordinaire Angelique Dawson is illegally detained during Code Name VFO565, and then rescued by her longtime bodyguard, former Police Special Forces Company Commander and Egg Breaker, Geoffrey Foxtrot, she is whisked away to be debriefed in Corsica. Her husband, she got married to Foxtrot after her defection to France, and his best friend, legendary Police Special Forces Captain Geelslang Peter Ndebele, are at the Ukuthula Ranch in northern Mozambique. They are living under a termination order to be assassinated at sight but not much bothered by the Great Game anymore. With Angelique away, they consider themselves retired. However, they are attacked by an assassination team, looking for Angelique Dawson-Foxtrot. Thus starts what became later known as the “Egg Breaker War,” a merciless clash between two opposing groups. They decide to go south and launch a counter-attack on their own but first unexpectedly meeting with Angelique in Dubai. She is back and now leading her Egg Breakers against her former colleagues, a terrifying thought for all involved. Foxtrot and Geelslang are recruited by MI6 to sabotage two of the South African Navy Type 209 submarines at the Simonstad Naval Base. The submarines must be destroyed in order to even the odds for Western snatch teams to approach South African waters to launch raids on Al-Qaeda operatives hiding away in the country. Foxtrot likewise takes revenge for the torture of his wife in the during Code Name VFO565 by executing her former boss, Ramish, together with his entire security team, no quarter is asked nor extended. If you wish to read about covert and Special Forces Operations in sub-Saharan Africa, the GMJ Books are the place to start. You will learn about Special Forces techniques and military history not known outside the select few. Code Name Pour Angelique is the second book in the popular GMJ Series.
