Cinders — Heather Stone

Peony is a seventeen year old Talist, the colloquial term for those who are able to connect with the elements through an evoluntionary genetic mutation. She was on the run for the last five years, dodging capture by hiding and relinquishing all claim on her element. Captured, she is now one of thousands being interned at The Compound, a camp designed for the capture, study, torture, and annihilation of her kind. A rebellion is forming, led by her friend Myna, while Peony is struggling daily just for survival.
