Caught in the Middle — K.N. Kellum

Style has lived on the fringes of Down Below, fighting for everything that she has. Now, she's on the surface and is discovering that everything she had been taught all her life was a lie. No one can live on the surface. Nope, lie people are living there. We brought everyone below. Nope, another lie, or where else did these people come from? It is not safe up there. Okay, that one might not be a complete lie. There are giant rats and such, but the air is fine, the water is fine, but yeah, everything is still brown. Now, Style is learning about the humans living on the surface. But, that's not going to be easy since they seem to hate and despise the people living Down Below. Not that Style can blame them. I would also hate a bunch of people that left my people to die, Style thinks. What will they do when they find out where I came from.Style always thinks fast on her feet, but this situation means that she is going to have to be extra careful and extra quick if she doesn't want to get hit on the head and tied to something, which seems to happen a lot.
