Ashlyn Spencer's life revolves around her photography studio and her life in Nashville. She has achieved everything she has ever envisioned for her life. Her own unhappy childhood led to her early decision to avoid the fairy tale life that many little girls dreamed of. Love and marriage were never part of her future plans. Her content orderly life is disrupted after her sister is severely injured in an auto accident and her young niece comes to stay with her while her sister recuperates. Ashlyn's neighbor and best friend offers a distraction for her niece; a weekend at her brother's farm. A trip to a smelly farm and the prospect of meeting a farmer dressed in dirty overalls was the last situation Ashlyn wanted to experience, but she relented. Ashlyn's preconceptions about farm life and most notably farmers are turned upside down as soon as she meets Reed Houston. Soon Ashlyn finds herself reconsidering her determination to avoid all romantic entanglements. With Reed's help Ashlyn may be able to put her fears aside and finally believe in love.
Excerpt: Reed watched Ashlyn from across the large expanse, wondering what she was thinking. She had been turning her nose up at everything here since she had arrived; but something about her demeanor was different now. He couldn't place his finger on it, but she almost had a peaceful look on her face. He shook his head to clear it; he did not need images in his head of her enjoying life on the farm. He knew she was a city girl through and through and he did not need to even think about her in anyway other than as a very short house guest. The shorter the better as far as he was concerned. He really needed to get this woman out from under his roof. She was threatening his sanity; the last thing he needed was to be thinking too deeply about a woman who would be out of his life in a couple of days. She definitely was not his type, as least that was what he kept telling himself.
