Once upon a time there lived a TROLL; not a horrid dwarf that lived under a bridge causing grief to honest Billy goats; not a reclusive gnome that hoarded riches deep within the midriff of a hill; not a frightful ogre of a troll that would steal small children from their cribs and replace them with cubs of its own; and not a fierce giant that would change into stone if dragged out into the sunlight; but a more humanlike TROLL: a fellow not so different from you or your neighbor say, if it was not for this one other thing what set him apart from everyone else; and caused him much hardship, so that he became a melancholy TROLL; and was not an ordinary troll at all, but a most extraordinary TROLL; and an unlikely poet.
