A journey into the stigma of depression from writers and artists.

The "Expression of Depression" anthologies arose from a journal and pad of art therapy pictures recorded during a stint in rehab. The idea was to collate similar pieces from as many writers and artists as possible; the desire was to provide empathy and inspiration for anyone going through a similar experience of isolation and mental struggle.

Brainstorms is the second volume in the series and contains work contributed by Melvin Burgess, Sadie Frost, Clint Catalyst, Lucie Barât, Nina Antonia, and Todd Swift.

Praise for Little Episodes

"Back in Five Minutes (Volume 1) is a searingly honest and inspiring testament to the fact that all art, by its very existence, is life-affirming. The impulse to create is often, in the words of Leonard Cohen, the crack that lets the light in."
Jillian Lauren " Author " Some Girls: My Life in a Harem (Plume, April 2010)

"I heard about Little Episodes through friends. Y'know, people were talking about it and I have an interest in mental health and I think that it's a cool thing they're doing, a pragmatic thing. It's important for people to have a place like this."
Kieran Leonard " Musician

"I was first drawn to Little Episodes because of Lucie [Barât]. I think that she has really set something up here that is amazing. She is so creative but knows many formulas, so many ways to do things, and she has been a bit of a sounding voice for me. It's nice to use that inspiration for writing. Make it not all doom and gloom, y'know. We wrote a poem together " half mine, half hers."
Sadie Frost - Actress, Designer

"The static snowstorm of depression and illness can threaten to envelop all of us at times. It's art's soft hello that reminds you of your power to enchant others and emerge from the blizzard intact. Fortunately, we now have the Little Episodes collective to remind all of us this fact."
Jared Gold - Designer

“I was so so pleased that some people had the courage and the guts to demystify mental health... some of the writing on the site is fantastic! It's a voice that can be heard and recognized. There's nothing worse than somebody saying, ‘I feel like this' and then being told to ‘buck out of it.' … I don't think things need to be behind closed doors. This is normal stuff; it's being human.”
Alison Smith - Psychotherapist - excerpt from interview in Little Episodes documentary
