When writer Susan and the demon Phil fell in love, it felt like their adventure was only just beginning. Now, almost a year later, they spend all their time sitting in silence and he seems to prefer spending his free time with his demon friends to being with her.
Across town, vampires Daniel and Gavin have just woken from their hibernation. They've been on the run from their former master for hundreds of years following their defeat in the Vampire Wars. They would sleep for twenty years at a time; waking for only a few hours to feed before returning to their hibernation, and always hoping to stay one step ahead of their enemies. But this time they awake to find the world is changing, and they're not sleepy; they're hungry!
Wannabe goth Amy knows that she's too florid and chubby to ever be like the heroines in the films she watches. She wishes she were more like her skinny goth friends. She wishes the boys at school wouldn't make fun of her. Most of all she wishes she could meet someone who understands her, and accepts her as she is. She's not sure she wants that person to be geeky vampire Gavin, but when she gets involved with the strangest team of vampire hunters ever to hold a stake (four demons, a writer, a perverted talking toad and a disembodied soldier) she doesn't want him to get hurt either.
Blood Will Out is a funny and often wacky parody of the vampire genre.
