"Being Van Gogh" and "Forgery 101" take place in the world of art where there are artists whose job is to recreate a damaged piece of original artwork and make it display ready for the public to see in a museum. In Paris in 1933 a cellar was opened up that contained a collection of Impressionist masters hidden throughout the length of World War One and only recently uncovered. Although the original masters of the 1870s to the 1890s consisted of artists like Renoir, Monet, Cezanne, Degas, Seurat, Gauguin, Pissarro, and the ill talented Vincent Van Gogh, the condition of the old masters were fraught with mold and acid rot. Gustav Mahler the restoration artist took possession of the ruined trash in exchange for a few museum quality works that he restored. This set the man on a mission to recreate faithfully the artwork for display in his own museums and store the original damaged work secretly away. Gustav taught his son the art of forgery, and his son did the same until in the modern day the current owner of the United World Art Museums and Galleries was left with the task of bring to life the pieces of art left by Vincent Van Gogh. Nobody but the Mahler family knew just how many of the Impressionist masters were fakes. Michael, meanwhile wanted a son to pass on his talents to. It had been a Mahler tradition; still the man was not in love. Yet he was developing feeling for two different women at the same time. In the small town where he did his art restoration a nurse by the name of Diedra Daniels had the man's heart and wanted his children, too. In Dallas where the his museum was the director in training Patricia Hutson caught the man's eye and heart as she was a professional woman of elegance. When both women came up with babies at the same time, Michael married one and had his family adopt the other one. She became his sister at that point and on a path to someday run the entire series of museums with Michael. That was when the real fun began as the babies came and found a stronger than twin connection between the two. More than anything else, this is their story.
