When Greg's son's girlfriend is kidnapped. The police believe she is a runaway, but his investigation points to a stranger kidnapping. And the stranger is probably a polygamist.

So begins a three-month journey that takes him and his faithful dog, Keiko, on an odyssey chasing a strange Fundamentalist Mormon sect.

In his quest to find her, he learns as much about strange human behavior as he does about where she is. He thinks about a speech given by Abram Lincoln, when he said, "Slavery and Polygamy are barbaric, and both should be eliminated from a modern society."

But these people think God talks to them, and watch out if you disagree because they may kill you for being an infidel.
