Everyone is leaving Hillside High School for the summer. The administrative staff
leave on vacation and the offi ces are empty. Larry Wysocki takes his family to
Disneyworld, Donovan Archer takes on some remodeling and yard work and Jon
Burke is going to his cottage in Door County. But Burke doesn't make it to his
summer retreat, and a prolonged search reveals nothing. Weeks later a couple fi nds
Burke staggering along the lakeshore, nearly dead, and incoherent. The question
is: Who would do this and why? Bailey Welch, newly hired detective for the Door
County Sheriff's Department joins Dan Engler and Bill Sommers in trying to fi nd
out what happened to Burke. The case is made more diffi cult by Burke's loss of
memory and his inability to offer any assistance. Baileys Harbor may offer some
answers to the case, but answers are hard to come by but Bailey Welch along with
Engler and Sommers, work long days in solving the crimes.
