When she was a child, Ayla, the Royal Princess, was a tomboy. Because he lacked sons, King Kybach had indulged his daughter in all she was interested in. She was a natural fighter and that became apparent early on, so it was arranged for her to secretly train. She also learned to read and use numbers. Having no son, Kybach saw that his line would end with his daughter and he wanted her to be as prepared as possible to be Queen. Ayla had the best trainers and teachers that the king's treasure could buy. Kybach even arranged for the princess to learn governance by observation. It was a thing unheard of in normal times. These were not, however, normal times, but times of war and invasion. Kybach wanted his daughter to survive when he died.

Ayla is now a beautiful and capable woman. Her father has no choice but to send her on a dangerous mission or face civil war. The time has come for Ayla to take her place and her success will determine if the kingdom survives and if she will earn the title Warrior Princess thus establishing her own reputation as a leader.
