The second book in a four part series, Apprentice Witness retells the historic events of 1775 as witnessed through the eyes of Paul Revere's teenage son. Boston struggles under the threat and occupation by the British forces. Building up to the invasion of Boston, this dramatic retelling of Colonial American brings you right into the action of the War of Independence.

Will Paul Revere Jr rise the challenge of juggling his apprenticeship duties with spying on the enemy? As the situation escalates the Continental Congress effectively declare war on the British.

An action packed story full of historic detail and context, read this fictional account of the bravery of those early patriots.

"The prisoner had broken free. He ran unbelievably fast though awkwardly, his arms still tied behind his back. Dodging and darting away from his pursuers, he bolted across the field towards Pa and me, only to trip and fall slowly at our feet. Lying on his side, he snapped back his head and gaped up at us.
I drew in a sharp breath. I knew his face. The freckles, the scarred chin and the odd color of his hair like tarnished gold were all as I remembered. Large tears formed in his too familiar eyes.
“Help me,” he pleaded. “Please.”
I dropped to my knees beside him to untie the ropes, but Pa dragged me backward and only then did I hear the approaching thud of hooves.
Major Hicks dismounted with his pistol in hand, the sun's light glinting off the sword at his side. Coming over, he looked down at the soldier, at his pitiful face crumpling with fear. But nothing showed on the major's face. No expression of compassion, not a hint of anger or even impatience as though his heart lacked any human feelings.
Major Hicks aimed his pistol down, cocked and fired it point blank into the soldier's forehead. Blood spurted, drenching his face--Christopher's face.
Saturated by hatred, I struggled to reach that cold-blooded murderer, fought to escape Pa's hold . . .
The emptiness in the major's eyes stopped me dead. His emotionless expression told me I wasn't worth the effort of killing; I wasn't worth the cost of another spent bullet. My outrage meant nothing to him. He shoved the pistol into its holster, mounted up and trotted off across the field.
Sickened, I stared down at the soldier's face, seeing Christopher's beneath all the blood until Pa pulled me around and forced me to look at him, instead.
“What were you thinking?” he demanded. “How many times have I warned you about Major Hicks?”
“But the soldier. He looked like--.” I choked on my words, my eyes blurring."
