Appearance of Evil

As houseguest of one of the Huntington Museum's board members, and busy with her restoration project, art restorer Andrea Perkins is dimly aware of the discovery of a corpse on the grounds of the museum.

LAPD detectives Tina Roberson and Eduardo Lopez, however, are very involved, exploring a connection between the dead body--a vagrant named Goochie murdered on his way back from the Santa Anita racetrack--and the acts of a graffiti artist who is spraying garish clothes on the statues.

But when the search for the killer begins to involve Andrea's hostess, Andrea must confront a disturbing appearance of evil that even wealth and beauty cannot hide.
