WOULD YOU SURVIVE?
It has been 19 years since humanity lost the battle against the beasts--since the world changed forever. Now, Frankie and Abby--two young sisters in their 20's--are living in a desolate beach house on a Southern California cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. For too many years they've been all alone--without electricity or running water, and with death that comes loping toward them in the darkness each night.
The beasts...
Frankie, the younger sister, calls them skeeters. You can smell them before you see them, she says. And they only come in the dark, because the light, it hurts their eyes. Abby, the older sister, says that some people thought that the volcanic eruption in Yellowstone Park 19 years ago opened a door to the secret world under the ground and the skeeters got out. Other people, Abby says, thought that maybe skeeters were hibernating and just woke up. And--of course--there were always those who thought that skeeters were part of the Rapture and came straight out of hell.
Whatever the reason--whether the beasts were vampires or demons--they took down humanity quickly, killing and eating with a voraciousness that drove the last few humans into hiding.
And now the skeeters are coming for Frankie and Abby. It's not a case of if...but when. The scat-signs are increasing, the beasts are circling. Perhaps there's a migration afoot or--perhaps--the beasts have simply found the girls at last.
Darkness is coming...it's time to RUN!
