The Battle of Blue Licks, called by some the last battle of the American Revolution, occurred ten months after Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown. The battle and subsequent engagements between Kentuckians and British led Indians are to some a clear indication that the British wished to stop the expansion of the new United States east of the Alleghany Mountains. Fighting against the wealth and influence of scalp-buying British leaders, the Kentuckians refused to give up.
