Seventeen year old Alina Leone is an alien.
Not the foreign citizen kind, but the secret, I'm-from-another-planet-and-mean-you-no-harm kind.
And so far, it's worked for her. No one knows she's an empress from a distant planet hiding here from the Shadows, the monsters who destroyed her home. No one knows Alina's otherworldly powers include glowing like a night light and telepathically communicating with her horse. But any attempt at “normal” is bound to go out the window at the arrival of a talking wolf. That's when things get weird. And serious. Then it's “goodbye Earth, hello space travel” and cute boys and all kinds of extra-terrestrial creatures.
She meets Ander, a hottie with an attitude she can't figure out, and Kent, a pretty boy with a smile that has enough wattage to power a small city. Suddenly, she's thrown into all the situations she avoided on Earth. Good thing she has Jalene to guide her in all things boys and fashion, whether Alina wants to hear it or not.
Over the next weeks, Alina must give up her attempt to blend and lay low when she learns that the Shadows never gave up looking for the lost empress. And once they find her, they plan to rid the galaxy of the one person who stands in their way of total inter-galactic power.
